Mohammad Khurshid Wahab

Chairman

Mr. Wahab was born in a respected muslim family in 1963. He completed M. A. in Mass Communication and Journalism from University of Dhaka. He is a prominent retired Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank. He started his career as banker at Janata Bank in 1988. He served Bangladesh Bank i.e. Central Bank of Bangladesh with reputation under different key positions which includes Assistant Director, Deputy Director, Joint Director, Deputy General Manager, General Manager of Foreign Exchange Policy Department and Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank. He is a Diploma Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (DAIBB) (Part-I).

During his long professional life, Mr. Wahab gathered huge experience focusing the following concentration area like Bangladesh Bank’s Agricultural Credit Department, Audit and Inspection Department, Bank Inspection Department, Department of Offsite Supervision, Banking Regulation and Policy Department, Foreign Exchange Investment Department, Foreign Exchange Policy Department, Foreign Exchange Operation Department, Currency Officer and various departments of Bogra and Rajshahi Offices.

He participated various training programs among them most prominent are: Two days program on “Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation” held in Moscow, Russia; Two days conference on “Directors of Payment and Settlement System of Asia-pacific Central Banks” held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia organized by The SEACEN Centre; A training program on “PPP Structuring Legal Agreements and Concession Contracts (P-102)” organized by the “Investment Promotion and Financing Facility II (IPFF-II)” project, Bangladesh Bank in USA; and the program on “Bangladesh-Canada Business Forum 2019” and “13” Edition of the Toronto Global Forum in Toronto, Canada.

Mr. Wahab travelled so many countries like USA, Russia, Canada, Switzerland, India, UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and The Philippines.

S. M. Abdul Hamid FCA

Director

He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and Senior Partner of Islam Jahid & Co., Chartered Accountants. He has qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1994 and is also a Diplomaed Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (DAIBB).

Born in 1955, Mr. Hamid completed his MBA in Finance & Banking from the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC). He was recognized as one of the most distinguished graduates of IIUC and received the Excellence in Finance & Banking Award in 2012.

Mr. Hamid has over 37 years of distinguished service in the banking sector of Bangladesh. He began his career at IFIC Bank PLC in 1983 and held several senior leadership positions including Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (CAMLCO), Head of Internal Control & Compliance and Deputy Managing Director. He served IFIC Bank until 2017, subsequently joining Premier Bank PLC as Deputy Managing Director (2017–2019) and later Citizens Bank PLC where he retired in 2020 as Deputy Managing Director.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hamid has demonstrated expertise in General Banking, Loans & Advances, Foreign Exchange, Treasury, Finance & Accounts, Risk Management, Compliance, and Policy Formulation. He has played a pivotal role in the development, evaluation and implementation of strategic plans and guidelines for the banking sector. He is widely respected as a dynamic banker and Loans & Advances specialist with particular strengths in project finance, foreign trade financing and international business. His leadership has consistently contributed to balanced business portfolios, sustainable growth and the advancement of Bangladesh’s banking industry.

Mr. Hamid has further enriched his professional knowledge through participation in numerous national and international training programs, including:

• International Program on Asset-Liability Management in Banks & Financial Institution (NIBM, Pune, India)
• Measuring & Managing Operational Risk (Marcus Evans, Mumbai, India)
• Operational Risk Management for Financial Institutions (SEDF)
• Branch Network Management (Citibank N.A., Hong Kong)

He has also been a regular participant in the South Asia Federation of Accountants (SAFA) Conferences organized by ICAB and ICMAB. His professional engagements have taken him overseas to India, Hong Kong and other countries, broadening his leadership and technical expertise.

Mr. S. M. Abdul Hamid FCA is highly regarded for his integrity, commitment and visionary approach to banking and finance. His vast experience, ethical standards and dynamic leadership continue to make significant contributions to the growth of the banking sector and the overall economy of Bangladesh.

Md. Altaf Hossain

Director

Before assuming the present post of IBBPLC, he performed his assignments as Deputy Managing Director (Investment), Chief Risk Officer (CRO), Head of Investment Management Wing (IMW), Head of the largest Zone of the Bank-Dhaka Central Zone, Head of the Corporate Investment Division-II, and Head of the SME Investment Division-II. He played pioneering role in formulation of SME Policies & Guidelines. He served as SME Focal Person of the Bank for a longer term. He also contributed immensely while working at the Rural Development Division (RDD) of the Bank. Wherever he was posted, he left marks of success in his banking career. Meanwhile he proved himself as a seasoned banker.

All through his more than two decades of vibrant and versatile banking career, he mounted up vast banking experience in almost all areas of banking particularly in Islamic Banking, Forex. & Trade, General Banking, Investment & recovery.

He is the Chairman of Investment Committee (IC-II), Purchase Committee. He is also the member of Management Committee (MANCOM), Asset Liability Committee (ALCO).

Joining IBBPLC as a “Vice President” he started his banking career in the year-2004. Prior to joining the Bank, he served different local as well as multi-national companies e.g. BRAC, MIDAS, SEDF, Grameen Fund etc. for a period of long 20 years holding key positions. He underwent several training programmes offered by reputed organizations of home and abroad namely FBCCI, BBTA, BIBM, SEDF, ICCB, IFC, DCCI, CRISL etc. He also participated in different training courses on Banking/ Economics in Malaysia, the United Kingdom, India, UAE, Thailand, France and Switzerland.

Janab Md. Altaf Hossain born in a traditional Muslim family of Mathbaria, Pirojpur. During his entire academic life he always showed extra-ordinary feat. Lastly he obtained prestigious MBA degree (major-Finance) from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University in the year-1988.

He is highly committed, decent, energetic dynamic banker especially in exploring business opportunities and having more expertise in Investment, International Trade & capability to face the challenges in banking industry and capital market as well.

G.M Mohd. Gias Uddin Qader

 Director

He comes of a respectable Muslim family and is born on 04th May, 1971 in the district of Cox’s Bazar. He joined Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited on 09th July, 1995 as Probationary Officer. During his banking career, he gathered vast banking experience in almost all arena of banking especially in Islamic banking. He worked as Investment Incharge, Head of Branch in different branches including rural, urban, AD, OBU branches and Head of Chattogram South Zone & Head of Corporate Investment Division-II of the Bank.

Earlier, he was also adjunct faculty of International Islamic University, Chattogram (IIUC) and Darul Ihsan University conducting the courses on “Islamic Financial System” and subjects related to BBA, MBA and MBM.

G.M. Mohd. Gias Uddin Quader completed BBA (Hon’s) & MBA in Accounting from University of Chittagong and obtained LLB from National University. He achieved Post Graduate Diploma from Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM). He is also a Diplomaed Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (DAIBB). He has completed Islamic Banking Diploma (DIB) from Islami Bank Training & Research Academy (IBTRA).

He attended & conducted numerous seminars, workshops and training programs at home and abroad and visited many countries like UK, UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Thailand, Malashiya, Singapore, India, Myanmar etc.

Mr. Nahid has been deputed at Islami Bank Capital Management Limited (IBCML) on September 17, 2019 and the Board of IBCML has appointed Mr. Nahid as Company Secretary and Chief Compliance Officer on November 13, 2019.

The Board of IBCML further appointed Mr. Nahid as the Managing Director & CEO (C.C) of Islami Bank Capital Management Limited (IBCML) on November 27, 2024 and was appointed as full-time Managing Director & CEO by Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission on March 30, 2026.

Mr. A.S.M. Nahid is a Fellow Member of Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB). He obtained Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Dhaka International University (DIU), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from National University in addition to Masters in HRM from the University of Dhaka. He is a Diplomaed Associate of the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh (DAIBB) and completed Islamic Banking Diploma (DIB) from Islami Bank Training & Research Academy (IBTRA).
